ABOUT 50 students and and 20 other
outstanding achievers in the country will be
honoured at the Nigerian OSCAR award to be
hosted in Lagos this year.
OSCAR stands for the Nigerian Outstanding
Students’ Choice Awards of Recognition.
Attendees will be thrilled as organisers are set
to host the most acceptable, credible, and
world-standard award ceremony.
The event encompasses the National Student
Awards, the Multicultural Food Feast, and a
grand reception for 20 Most Exceptional
Nigerians (MEN) of 2015.
In 2014, OSCAR Nigeria organised two local
editions of the awards at the Obafemi
Awolowo University (OAU) and Ladoke
Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH),
receiving accolades from state governments,
public agencies, non-governmental
organisations (NGOs), and powerful
individuals.
During the Obafemi Awolowo University
OSCAR, prominent figures and brands like
Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State;
vice-chancellor of the institution, Professor
Bamitale Omole; Diamond Bank; Airtel
Nigeria; Nestle Nigeria, and 40 students of the
Obafemi Awolowo University were awarded
and honoured at the highly prestigious
Oduduwa Hall of the university.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State
governor on Students’ Affairs, Mr Muyiwa
Asagunla, once said: “OSCAR Nigeria is
particularly a Nigerian initiative that will
easily get global publicity and attention.

Meanwhile, the Senior Communication Officer
of the team, Ojekunle Alex Oderemi, dropped
the hint as to what to expect during the 20
MEN Grand Reception.
He said: “The event will showcase and honour
20 exceptional Nigerians who have done
something unique in 2015.”
